If you are visiting Hong Kong and ask me which is the best hotel to stay, I used to say it is The Peninsula Hong Kong Hotel, but from now on, the answer is The Hong Kong Upper House. Hong Kong Upper House has voted the no.1 best Hong Kong Hotel in Tripadvisor.com (See details here).
The hotel is located in Admiralty above Pacific Place which is next to the JW Marriott Hong Kong. Admiralty is just one station next to Central, it is very convenient if you catch the Hong Kong Airport Express to Hong Kong station and take a taxi to the hotel. The taxi fee should be less than HK$40. The location of the hotel actually very convenient to go to the Ocean Park, Disney Land and shopping area like Central and Mong Kok.
From the moment we arrived, I knew we had made the right decision. The hotel is designed by the award-winning and highly celebrated architect Andre Fu, The Upper House, which is part of their collection, was created not only to impress, but to leave you with the feeling that staying there was a life-changing experience. We booked the hotel at Agoda.com with USD619 per night. (You can check the price here: http://www.agoda.com/zh-hk/the-upper-house/hotel/hong-kong-hk.html)
The check-in service was fast, after that their staff will take you to the escalator and tells you more about the hotel.
We stayed on the 45th floor.
The room was so big that we didn’t think of.
The L-sharp sofa which is my girlfriend favorite.
The view was good on the 45th floor.
Upper House is an Eco-tech hotel, I knew this after I stayed in the hotel. They are trying to go completely paperless with its online check-in service. Conventional check-in and check-out queues are made obsolete by a portable PC-wielding guest-experience team. Guests can check-in from anywhere inside the hotel. Check-out can be done by email. Furthermore, they provide an iPod touch for guest to request room service.
Although iPod is not a new technology (I am using iPad4), however you just feel great using an iPod touch to call the room service.
Guess what, the hotel room even has poker cards! They want the guest gambling in the room??!!
Take a look of the mini-bar. It is all you can eat and drink without charges (Of course except the red wine in the refrigerator),
A comfortable reading corner with a nice view
You can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the room (these are the tea bags and the coffee capsules)
Bathroom
There are two sinks in the bathroom.
The deep limestone clad, free standing bathtub is so comfortable that you feel guilty leaving it to explore the city.
Next to the bathtub is an array of products that make for the ultimate bath experience. You can choose to press a button next to the bathtub that will automatically lower the blinds, however the glass was designed so that you can see out, but no one can see in. Wow…
So you might think about to stay at Upper House for your next holiday, surely you will not regret to stay in the most modern and to live in this luxury hotel in Hong Kong.
